Hi, I’m April Rainn Harvell, and my journey hasn’t always been easy. Through every challenge and every change, I’ve learned that it’s never too late to transform ourselves. That belief became the heart of my brand and the reason Blue Butterfly Cosmetics exists today. I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, always fascinated by beauty, self-care, and the science behind it. From a young age, I was that curious girl who read the back of every product bottle, looking up each ingredient to understand what it meant, what it did, and what side effects it could cause. Over time, I realized that many products were filled with harsh chemicals that irritated my skin and scalp. I dealt with rashes, hives, and allergic reactions, which inspired me to create something different.

When I was younger, my aunt had a beautiful backyard filled with herbs and hibiscus trees. I remember picking fresh hibiscus flowers with her and creating our own homemade hair oil using coconut oil and other natural ingredients. That memory stayed with me—it was my first real connection to the healing power of nature and the start of my passion for creating natural beauty products. Those early moments in her garden taught me the value of patience, care, and the beauty of crafting something by hand.

I began experimenting with natural ingredients, blending oils and butters to make gentle, effective products that the skin and scalp would truly love. I wanted to build something clean, fresh, and nourishing, products that worked without irritation. That’s how my passion turned into a purpose.

Growing up, I also loved visiting spas. I was fascinated by the soothing scents, the use of herbs and oils, the massages, the bath salts, and the exfoliating treatments that made people feel renewed and beautiful. I loved the refreshing atmosphere, that moment when you walk out of a spa feeling lighter, glowing, and restored. That feeling inspired me. One day, I dream of opening my own spa where every treatment features my products and protective hairstyles, creating a true Blue Butterfly experience that leaves you feeling refreshed, renewed, and transformed.

Blue Butterfly Cosmetics started as a way to bring that same sense of healing and renewal into everyday life. What began with hair and skincare has grown into a full wellness brand, offering clean and natural self-care essentials, from botanical-infused oils and rich butters to herbal beauty and wellness products that help you look and feel your best.

The blue butterfly reminds us that even in the hardest seasons of life, we can always choose to grow and rise again. Our struggles don’t define us, our transformation does.
